Why London City is different

London City Airport is within London itself and is served directly by the Docklands Light Railway, unlike the airports outside the capital. On MisterFare's own route data it is by far the shortest of the main London airport runs to Central London — the typical journey times shown above for the listed routes reflect that — which is also why its base fares start lower than the other airports'.

That short distance makes London City practical for tight schedules: day trips, short business visits and late arrivals going straight to a hotel or home. The route pages below show live base fares for every vehicle; for another London address, use the fare form above.

London City transfer or the DLR?

London City Airport has its own DLR station. TfL lists it in fare zone 3 and says on its airport transfers guide that trains run every 8 minutes on weekdays and every 10 minutes at weekends, taking around 20 minutes to Bank.

A private transfer takes you from the terminal straight to your exact address without changing onto the Underground — useful with luggage, children or a group, or for a destination away from the DLR. For a single traveller with hand luggage going near Bank, the DLR may be the simpler choice.

Pickups and drop-offs at London City

London City Airport sets its own rules for dropping off and picking up at the terminal, so for your collection follow the meeting instructions supplied with your booking. Your pickup uses the date and time you book and is not changed automatically if your flight is early or late; any waiting options available for London City pickups are shown during booking, before you pay.

For departures, choose a pickup time that suits your airline's check-in and bag-drop deadlines. Because the journey is short, give yourself a realistic margin for traffic rather than cutting it fine.

How your London City fare is calculated

Base fares come from MisterFare's live route and vehicle pricing. Your final fare depends on your exact address, date, time, vehicle and party size, and any charge that applies — such as the Central London Congestion Charge during charging hours — is shown as a separate line before payment. A baby seat can be added as an optional extra during booking.
